Welcome to the second installment of Invest Local, a series in which we’re shining a light on ways Greenvillians can invest their time, talent, and treasure — locally.
Today, we’re taking a look at an upcoming addition to Hollingsworth Park that doubles as a new investment opportunity.
The Chadsworth Drive Swim Club Inc., a non-profit entity composed of Hollingsworth Park residents, is aiming to raise the necessary capital to bring the Pool at Hollingsworth Park to life. The private pool amenity will be located at the entrance of Crossmoor at Hollingsworth Park — the new 22 lot neighborhood currently under construction at Verdae Crest Drive + Chadsworth Drive.
Babcock Investment Company, the developer of Crossmoor, will transfer a three-acre pad-ready pool site — including underground utilities, a parking lot, curbs + sidewalks, and landscaping — as a free gift in order to jump start the project. With a successful capital raise, The Pool at Hollingsworth Park could be open as early as Summer 2023. Amenity features will include: -
A six-lane, Junior Olympic-size, private saltwater lap pool 🏊♀️
- 7-in. deep sundeck, ideal for in-pool lounging, featuring an in-floor bubbler feature for kids
- Bathrooms (with showers)
-
A concession area
- A large covered area for picnics + parties
- An outdoor patio with sun shades — perfect for an al-fresco post-swim lunch
|
|

Both the pool + covered amenity area with bathrooms will be completely private and will not be attached to any HOA within Hollingsworth Park. | Rendering by Project Plus, provided by Vicinity |

|
The opportunity A community-driven investment campaign will fund the construction of the amenity itself. The developer will provide: - All the site work
-
Utilities
- Curbs + sidewalks
- Parking lot
- Landscaping as a gift to the neighborhood
And the interest is there. The business model is membership-based and total membership for The Pool at Hollingsworth Park is estimated to be capped at 350. There are currently over 350 residents interested in joining, according to a recent survey of local neighborhoods. |
|
|
Bonus: Ample parking for cars and golf carts is also planned. | Rendering provided by Vicinity |

We told you about the sparkling wine and seafood dinner with former Husk Barbeque Executive Chef Jon Buck at Sassafrass Flower Farm yesterday, but our excitement caused an error. Chef Jon Buck was the Executive Chef of Husk Greenville, not Husk Barbeque.

Editor’s Pick: Guten Tag, GVL. I just spent a couple weeks abroad, ending my trip in Munich where I checked out BMW’s headquarters. If you find yourself over there, I recommend checking out BMW Welt, located near the site from the 1972 Olympic Games. Right here in the Upstate, you can get your BMW history fix at BMW's only official North American museum, The Zentrum Museum in Greer, or check out The Ultimate Driving Museum, which Kyle got a close look at while I was gone.
