Rendering of the finished building | Provided by City Scape Winery
This new building for the Pelzer winery will allow them to have much more indoor space and will be perfect for the colder months when drinking wine outdoors may not be ideal. Right now, they expect the building to be finished + open to the public by mid-to-late December and we’re already dreaming of what the new space will look like all decked-out with holiday decorations.

So, what all does this new space entail? It’ll be a perfect place for adults and families, as they’ll have a section that’s more “family friendly” and an area that’s more intimate and cozy. They’ll have a patio that overlooks the vineyard and a giant wine glass. Wait, a giant what?

Yeah, that wine glass. City Scape owners, Deb + Josh, tell us that this outdoor wine glass could be in the running for the world’s largest wine glass. Now that’s nothing to wine about.
Their expected December opening will be here before we know it, but in the meantime, you can still visit them for their tastings and events. Oh, and be sure to say hi to Pinot the pig while you’re there. 🐷

What we tried (with pricing):
We took a class called Culinary 101: Knife Skills ($89) where Chef Bill taught us to use knives safely + effectively. He walked us through different cuts of fruits and vegetables, and we practiced by making a peach pico de gallo, salad, and rice pilaf.
In this 3.5 hour class, he taught us everything from how to safely cut our veggies to how to salt water properly when cooking, making us more efficient + effective cooks. Ⓟ

Correction
- In our recent conversation about the 2 new SRT pedestrian bridges, we got a bit Haywood-happy. Where it says, “...one over Haywood road near Laurens Road + one over Haywood Road near Washington Street,” should actually say, “...one over Haywood road near Laurens Road + one over Laurens Road near Washington Street.” We had a few other points that were not explained accurately, and we have made corrections to those here.
It seems like every day we get a new Unity Park update and we love seeing it all start to come together. We can’t wait to start planning a picnic in the park under these new artsy picnic shelters.
