Chances are you fall in one of two categories: Youâre soaking up the last moments of summer sun or youâre eager for all things pumpkin spice. If youâre the latter, we have some exciting news for you. |

Apple picking season is here. If youâre thinking it feels a bit early, youâre right. Farmers say the heat and sun are helping apples to ripen faster this year. So, though the air isnât crisp quite yet, the apple crop is. Weâve rounded up 10+ apple orchards within driving distance of Greenville (with options for you to pick or just pick-up) so you can get your fix of apples, apple cider, and â everyoneâs favorite â apple cider doughnuts. |

It isnât fall in my house until we pick some apples. | Photos via The Barilla Family circa 1997 + 1999 |
Editor's pick: Growing up in Upstate New York â where the local apple orchard was around the corner â it feels a little crazy to be apple picking in the heat of August, but Iâve learned my lesson from years past: go early to pick your own. If you do miss the chance for u-pick, itâs still worth a trip to the orchard for fall activities, and, of course, those delicious, delectable apple cider doughnuts, which are worth the drive all on their own. In fact, I'll be embarking on Kidding Around Greenville's apple cider doughnut tour ASAP.
