The official 2021 South Carolina Fastest Growing Companies have been announced. Out of 50 SC companies, 13 of them are from Greenville, and a few others are from the Upstate area in places like Spartanburg, Easley, and Simpsonville.

- Coming soon to Mauldin is Bohemian Bull, a burgers and brews restaurant from the Lowcountry. The new restaurant will be a part of Mauldin’s Maverick Station and should be open by spring of 2022. 🍔 (Upstate Business Journal)

- A new retail center — Cherrydale Market — will be coming soon to the corner of Furman Hall Road + North Pleasantburg Drive. The shopping center will be 115,000 sqft and include an Ulta, Five Below, Chipotle, Hobby Lobby, and Burlington. 🚧 (Greenville News)
Edu
- Come October or November, Clemson University will soon be home to self-driving shuttles, specifically Optimus Ride’s electric shuttles. This new self-driving shuttle service will be 1 of the largest in the country. 🚙 (Greenville News)
- Thanks to a grant from the National Park Service, researchers from Clemson University are continuing to work on an archeological examination on the campus of Fort Rutledge. The fort was originally built in 1776 and Clemson researchers have been working on the dig since 2018. Fingers crossed they find some cool history. ⛏️ (Greenville Journal)

- Did you know it’s National Small Business Week? To celebrate, the Greenville Chamber is highlighting local, small businesses. You can also nominate your favorite local, small biz for the My Favorite Small Business Award. The first round of nominations is open until Sept. 17.
Number
- ~$25 million. The amount of federal funds SC businesses and agricultural producers will receive to upgrade infrastructure + lower energy costs. Greenville’s Resurgence is 1 of the grant recipients. (The Post and Courier)
